Whether you call it Nuo Mi Fan or No Mi Fan or Lo Mai Fan, this is your sign to make some flavoursome Chinese Sticky Rice all in a rice cooker! 

It’s a great potluck dish to bring a Lunar New Year gathering or even as a staple for any meal. 

Similar to Lo Mai Gai, this umami-bomb dim sum dish features glutinous rice and familiar Chinese ingredients seasoned with a mixture of common Asian-pantry sauces. No reason not to try this Nuo Mi Fan recipe! The big difference between these two dishes is the toppings used and their preparation methods.

Though traditionally made with a bamboo steamer, using a rice cooker is just as good. With this hack, you can pop all the ingredients into a rice cooker and have an entire meal ready in less than 30mins.

Wash rice at least 3-4 times until water runs relatively clear. Soak rice with water for 30 minutes while prepping other ingredients.

Mince garlic, slice spring onion, roast pork, Chinese and duck liver sausage. Once mushrooms are rehydrated, slice them too.

Add mushroom, scallop, shrimp soaking liquid into a measuring cup and top it up to 500ml.

In a wokpan over medium heat, add in about 2 tbsp of oil, add in roast pork and stir fry until lightly browned.
