Air Fryer Stuffed Youtiao
Youtiao, You Char Kuay, Chinese Churro, Chinese Breadstick, Chinese Dough Sticks. This famous long golden-brown delicacy is one of the best Singaporean breakfast. It is usally accompanied with Congee or Soy Milk.
However, today’s recipe will be an upgrade of this traditional Youtiao by adding a unique blend of pastes and fresh ingredients making it one of the best party snack/finger food! Our version of Stuffed Youtiao consists of Sotong Paste, Fish Paste as well as Fresh Prawns which is chopped into small chunks.
Also, we made a Sambal Mayonnaise dipping sauce at the side to go with this air fried goodness! For the Sambal Mayo you just need 3 parts mayo & 2 parts sambal belacan! Super Easy!

150g sotong paste | |
150g fish paste | |
150g prawn (cut into small pieces) | |
¼cup carrot (finely chopped) | |
¼cup spring onions (finely chopped) | |
1tbsp light soy sauce | |
1tbsp shao xing wine | |
1tsp sugar | |
1tsp sesame oil | |
1tsp white pepper | |
3tsp cornstarch | |
Sesame Seeds for garnish | |
2pairs of youtiao |
Sambal mayo:
3parts mayonnaise | |
2parts sambal belacan |
Directions

Mix all the fillings ingredients, followed by all the seasoning together in a large bowl.

Beat the fillings by throwing them into the bowl for a few times by hand until it becomes very sticky.

Leave in the fridge for an hour to marinade.

Cut each youtiao into 4 pieces then cut a slit in the center. Add the filling mixture to the youtiaos in the center slit. Garnish with sesame seeds.

Add into the air fryer and drizzle with cooking oil. Air fry at 160°C for 10 minutes until golden brown.

Remove from the air fryer and serve with dipping sauce.
