Fried Oyster Cake

Fried Oyster Cake (炸蚝饼) is also known as UFO due to it’s rounded shape. It’s a snack which is crispy on the outside and yet moist on the inside when done right.
You’ll normally find this in many hawker centres, yet it’s also possible to (YES!) make this at home. Essentially you need to have medium sized prawns and large oysters to mix with the pork and chives. Batter wise, we’re mixing plain flour together with rice flour to get the batter right, and one important thing you will need a wide and preferable not to deep metal ladle for this!
When you’re done cooking, the cake will look golden brown – so drain it on a paper towel and serve. Enjoy!
