BONUS: Our Team’s Top 5 Favourites

As a local food company, The Meatmen team works hard all year every year to bring you the best recipes. Here are our personal top 5 favourite recipes for 2021 (Don’t say we never share!):

1. Braised Beef Noodles

Sticky sauce, slick noodles, tender beef, flavour explosion. Need we say more about this hainanese braised beef noodle recipe? Similar to Taiwan-style beef noodles, this recipe is good for either lunch or dinner and we highly recommend trying this out in 2022.

Preparation Time: 2 hours. Serves 3 to 4

2. Seafood Pao Fan

Based on just the richness of the broth itself, we can say we’re sold on this dish. Boiled with 6 different kinds of seafood, paired with a generous portion of ginger and scallions, this dish is perfect for sharing on a cold day.

3. Pork Liver with Scallions and Wolfberries

This recipe was part of our confinement series, which we hope was helpful to all new parents! We particularly enjoyed this dish because it was so nutritious, so flavourful, and best of all — so easy to make.

4. Heng Hua Lor Mee

One bowl will not be enough, but the best part about making your own food is that you can portion it how you want! Our Heng Hua Lor Mee recipe has just 4 simple steps to make and is best served immediately, bringing together flavours of chicken stock, pork belly, cabbage and fresh clams for an amazing umami bite.

Preparation Time: 1 hour. Serves 2 to 3

5. Chicken Char Siu (Easy)

We do have a traditional pork char siu recipe, but this chicken char siu takes the spot as it’s easy to make and simply delicious! Forget dry or tasteless char siu — this recipe enhances the juiciness and tenderness of the chicken, and pairs this beautiful texture with a sweet-savoury sauce. For our Muslim friends, skip the rice and cooking wine for a completely Halal chicken char siu.
