Steamed Tofu With XO Meat Floss

Innocent, plain looking ingredients but packed with a myriad of flavours when put together. Mild soybean taste that goes well with almost any food, some enjoy it cold, some like it piping hot. With our recipe, you can easily make your very own steamed tofu so soft it literally melts away in your mouth.
This simple mix of ingredients easily turns into a quick gourmet dish at any time of the day! Tender minced meat lying in comfort under that silky soft layer of tofu, topped off with generous toppings of meat floss for that fluffy light crunch. Remember to not miss out on the XO sauce! Each drop sends in waves of concentrated umami taste along with that hint of spiciness – the ultimate complement to kick up those flavours concealed within the meat and tofu.

Adjust Servings
200g minced pork (30% fat)
¼tsp salt
¼tsp sugar
1tsp oyster sauce
1tsp sesame oil
1tbsp cornstarch
1egg white
3 eggs
250ml unsweetened soya bean milk
½tsp chicken stock granule
¼tsp salt
1stalk spring onion (chopped)
80g XO sauce
30g crispy meat floss



Mix 150g minced pork (30% fat), ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp sugar, 1 tsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp cornstarch and 1 egg white.
Mark as complete

Marinate meat mixture for 15 minutes.
Mark as complete

Mix 80g XO sauce and 30g crispy meat floss. Set aside.
Mark as complete

Whisk 3 eggs, 250ml unsweetened soya bean milk, ½ tsp chicken stock granule and ¼ tsp salt.
Mark as complete

Prepare a steamer on medium heat.
Mark as complete

Spread minced meat mixture 1½ cm thick on a steaming plate.
Mark as complete

Steam for 10 minutes, or until cooked.
Mark as complete

Remove from steamer and strain egg mixture on top.
Mark as complete

Steam on high heat for 3 minutes. Turn off fire, let it rest for 8 minutes. Do not remove the cover.

After 8 minutes, remove it from the steamer.
Mark as complete

Sprinkle XO meat floss over it.
Mark as complete

Garnish with chopped spring onion.
