Hainanese Pork Chop – 海南炸猪排

Crispy fried pork chops can be found all around the world, but Hainanese Pork Chop is a favorite east meets west dish that’s easy to cook and enjoyed by the whole family.

Well coated with cream cracker crumbs over your tenderized pork, deep fry until golden brown for crisp perfection. Lastly, drizzle with the sauce which we made using Dancing Chef’s sweet and sour sauce, you’ll have a fabulous meat dish for your reunion dinners!

  1. 600g boneless pork chops (about 4 pieces 150g each)

  2. 16 soda cream crackers

  3. 2 eggs

  4. 1 cup plain flour

  5. 1 onion (sliced)

  6. 80g frozen mixed veg (corn, peas and carrot)

  7. 1 tbsp minced garlic

  8. 2 tbsp oil

  9. oil for deep-frying

  10. Ingredients


    1. ½ tsp baking soda (optional if marinating overnight)

    2. 1 tsp five spice powder

    3. 1 tsp sesame oil

    4. 1 tbsp light soy sauce

    5. 1 tbsp cornstarch

    6. 1 tbsp ginger juice

    7. Ingredients


      1. 1 pack Dancing Chef sweet and sour sauce

      2. 1 tbsp light soy sauce

      3. 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

      4. ¼ tsp white pepper powder

      5. ½ tbsp sugar (adjust to preference)

      6. 1 cup water

      7. 1 tbsp cornstarch mix with 2 tbsp water

      8. Ingredients


        1. Flatten pork and tenderizer pork chops with meat hammer.

        2. Add to the pork chops all the marinade ingredients. Mix well and set aside to marinate for 1 hour.

        3. Blend cream crackers in a food processor until fine. Transfer to a flat tray.

        4. For sauce, combine 1 pack Dancing Chef sweet and sour sauce, light soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, white pepper, sugar and water. Mix well and set aside

        5. Coat marinate pork chops in plain flour, egg wash and cream crackers crumbs.

        6. Heat sufficient oil in a wok, deep-fry pork chops until golden brown. Drain and set aside

        7. Heat 2 tbsp oil in pan, add minced garlic and stir fry until fragrant.

        8. Add onions slices, stir fry until it turns translucent and add the frozen mixed vegetables.

        9. Add sauce mixture and bring to simmer. Thicken sauce with cornstarch solution.

        10. Cut pork chops into strip and drizzle sauce on top.
