Homemade Egg Tofu – 自制蛋豆腐

Egg tofu. A staple in every household, that can be used for so many dishes!

Our task today would be to make egg tofu in the comfort of home, and use it to whip up a stunning dish of hot plate tofu!

We used NutriSoy No Added Sugar fresh soya milk, to mix with eggs and salt. With a nice steam of 20 minutes, you’ll have the egg tofu ready. With a hot pan, cooking the rest of the dish is as easy as ABC!

Homemade egg tofu:

  1. 6 eggs

  2. 400ml Nutrisoy No Sugar added Fresh Soy Milk

  3. 1½ tsp salt

  4. Ingredients

    Hot plate tofu sauce:

    1. 200g Minced pork

    2. 1 tbsp Hua tiao wine

    3. 2 tbsp light soy sauce

    4. 2 tbsp Chilli bean paste

    5. 2 tbsp Oyster sauce

    6. 1 tsp White pepper

    7. 100g Carrots (sliced)

    8. 1 tsp Sugar

    9. ½ cup Water

    10. 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

    11. 2 tbsp Oil

    12. 2 tbsp minced garlic

    13. 2 eggs

    14. Chopped spring onions

    15. Ingredients

      Steps:

      1. Add eggs, salt and Nutrisoy Fresh Soy Milk into a mixing bowl and mix well. Strain twice and add into a rectangle tin.

      2. Steam for 20 minutes. Remove and set aside to rest.

      3. Once rested, remove tofu from tin and cut into rectangles.

      4. Coat with cornstarch and deep fry until golden brown.

      5. Add 2 tbsp of oil from deep frying in a pan, add minced garlic and fry until fragrant.

      6. Add minced pork and stir fry for 2-3 minutes until cooked, add all the seasoning and mix well.

      7. Add water and bring to boil, then add cornstarch solution to thicken sauce.

      8. Add 2 tbsp of oil from deep frying into a hot pan, add eggs and lay fried egg tofu over eggs.

      9. Spoon minced meat sauce over fried tofu and garnish with chopped spring onions.
